A Riverside Meadow Garden
Project Summary
In the wake of a devastating fire that swept through the area, this property situated along a tributary of the Willamette River aims to restore an altered landscape through the use of native planting. Set within the forest, this residence balances native plantings, ornamental grasses, and a perennials that compliment the surrounding architecture and natural landscape. Planting along the house perimeter is restrained with the use of rockery to act as buffer zones in the event of future fire. A natural material selection further strengthens the ties between the surrounding environment. Boulders and naturalized edges gradually soften borders, blending the natural and built environment together.
